MindPing Privacy Policy

Privacy at a glance

MindPing does not require an account, contains no advertisements or analytics, and does not collect or transmit your questions or other personal data. Your MindPing data stays on your device.

MindPing is an Android application developed and published by Mono Code. This Privacy Policy explains how MindPing handles information when you use the application.

1. Information We Collect

MindPing does not collect personal information or user data.

MindPing does not require users to create an account or sign in. The application does not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, location information, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, or other personal information.

MindPing does not use advertising, analytics, or tracking services.

2. User-Created Questions and App Data

MindPing allows users to create questions, configure reminder settings, and record responses to questions. Information stored by the application may include:

  • Questions created or imported by the user
  • Optional answers or notes associated with questions
  • Question groups
  • Reminder and scheduling preferences
  • Question history and statistics, such as whether a question was answered as “I know it” or “I forgot”
  • Other application configuration settings
Local storage only
This information is stored locally on the user's device. MindPing does not upload user-created questions, answers, response history, configuration information, or other locally stored app data to Mono Code or to a server operated by Mono Code.

Users may explicitly choose to import or export their question data using Android's system file picker. These operations are initiated by the user.

3. Internet Access and Pre-Made Question Packs

MindPing uses an internet connection to provide downloadable pre-made question packs.

These question packs are hosted on GitHub and delivered through jsDelivr. When a user chooses to download a question pack, MindPing retrieves the relevant files from jsDelivr and stores the downloaded question data locally on the user's device.

No user-created questions or other MindPing user data are sent to GitHub or jsDelivr by the application.

Like other internet services, GitHub, jsDelivr, and the infrastructure used to deliver these files may process technical network information, such as an IP address, as part of handling an internet request. Such processing is governed by the respective service providers' privacy practices and is not used by MindPing to identify or track users.

4. Android Permissions

MindPing requests certain Android permissions solely to provide its core functionality.

Display over other apps
Used to display question reminders on top of other applications. MindPing does not use this permission to read, capture, monitor, or collect the contents of other applications.
Foreground service
Used to support user-enabled recurring question reminders.
Exact alarms
Used to schedule question reminders at user-configured intervals.
Notifications and vibration
Used for reminder-related functionality.
Run after device startup
Allows MindPing to restore previously enabled reminder scheduling after the device restarts.
Internet and network state
Internet access is used to download pre-made question packs. Network-state access may be used to determine whether network connectivity is available.
Battery optimization
MindPing may ask the user to allow it to operate without certain battery optimizations so that user-enabled reminders can function reliably in the background.

These permissions are used to provide application functionality and are not used to collect personal information.

5. Data Sharing

Mono Code does not sell, rent, share, or transmit user-created MindPing data to third parties.

The application does not contain advertising SDKs or third-party analytics SDKs.

As described above, network requests are made to third-party content infrastructure when downloading pre-made question packs.

6. Data Storage and Retention

Questions, answers, settings, response history, and related MindPing data are stored locally on the user's device.

Because Mono Code does not receive or maintain this data on its servers, Mono Code cannot remotely access or delete it.

Users can manage their information through MindPing's available controls, exported files, and Android's application-data management features. Uninstalling MindPing or clearing its application data through Android may permanently remove locally stored information unless the user has separately exported or backed it up.

7. Data Security

MindPing is designed so that user-created question data remains on the user's device rather than being transmitted to a Mono Code server.

Users are responsible for files they intentionally export from MindPing and for how those files are subsequently stored or shared.

8. Children's Privacy

MindPing does not knowingly collect personal information from children or other users. The application does not require an account and does not transmit user-created MindPing data to Mono Code.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated if MindPing's functionality or data-handling practices change.

Any updated version of this Privacy Policy will include a revised “Last updated” date. Users are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
